I've always loved the Damien Hirst art used on the album cover (above) because it reminds me of my favorite thing to do as a child (and as an adult)âspin art!
Known as the "Bad Boy" of art, Damien Hirst is a British-born artist who has been claimed to be the richest and most controversial living artist to date. He led a bit of a troubled life in his early years but blossomed once he found his niche studying fine arts at Goldsmiths, University of London. Death is a central theme in Hirst's works, and he is also well known for, of course, his spin paintings and his spot paintings.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces of his work, each with a little edge, a little humor and lots of color. Why is it that we always love the bad boys?

Hirst is definitely known for his dots, spin art, and death themes. These pieces are a few great examples of those themes!
In doing all of our homemade spin-art for this issue, the spin art color schemes became so interesting to me! I absolutely love Happy Head, it's earthy but still vibrant and fun. Some people find these pieces a little disturbing, but art isn't always suppose to be settling, is it?
